The Indian government has taken action to block certain battery management apps that have reportedly been used to remotely disable e-rickshaws across various regions. These applications, developed by Chinese companies, are intended for managing lithium-ion battery packs.
This decision comes in response to alarming incidents where e-rickshaws were turned off without the owners' consent, raising significant concerns about security and control over these vehicles.
Additionally, an extortion incident related to this issue was reported in Ujjain, further highlighting the potential risks associated with the use of these apps.
